Abstract

Multi-infarct dementia (MID), a syndrome due to multiple brain infarcts, is the second most common cause of dementia. It is difficult to diagnose correctly during life as evidenced by the low accuracy of clinical diagnosis as verified postmortem (for review see [1]). In addition, the neuropathological features of MID have been even less well characterized.
