Abstract
This paper presents the design and optimization process of a stand-alone autonomous power system, for supplying continuous power in typical rice-mills of Tripura, together with an economic analysis and environmental considerations for the project life cycle. The simulation results indicate that the renewable fraction is 0.62 for the hybrid system composed of 15 kW PV, 7 kW biomass gasifier, 8 kW diesel system with battery storage. The cost of energy is found to be 0.803$/kWh.
