Robotic Facelift Thyroidectomy

Abstract

We have cautiously pursued robotic thyroidectomy using a facelift access point with excellent results and favorable patient satisfaction. Because of the limitations of the technology, unilateral surgery remains the preferred approach. As operative times continue to improve, and with advances in the technology, we anticipate routinely offering bilateral surgery. Furthermore, it is conceivable that surgery for low-risk thyroid cancer would be appropriate.
