The Need for Teleradiology System in Medical Remote-Diagnosis Process

Abstract

Teleradiology makes remote diagnosis possible and applicable with great accuracy due to the need and importance of radiographs in the diagnostic process. Teleradiology and Telediagnosis form an integral part of the telemedicine concepts. Teleradiology application and its services represent the main and important sources of information necessary for diagnostic information. This article highlights the position, importance, and need of Teleradiology in the Telemedicine services; it also discusses this need that creates faster diagnosis. The description of a proposed teleradiological system which can be used in the Internet hospital for remote diagnosis process is discussed in this article. The scenario of such system that explains the role of radiologist in the diagnosis process was explained. The needed equipments and methods of transmission are mentioned.
