Abstract

A brief review is given on the electronic and optical properties of carbonnanotubes with emphasis on Aharonov–Bohm effects. The topics include aneffective-mass description of the electronic states, optical absorption and excitons,their fine structure, optical absorption for perpendicular polarization, and opticalphonons.
