Résumé
La maladie des emboles de cholestérol (MEC) est une maladie athéro-embolique systémique, pouvant compliquer la maladie athéromateuse dans ses formes les plus sévères. Elle peut atteindre plusieurs organes, tels que le rein, le système nerveux central, l’œil, l’appareil digestif ou la peau, et met souvent en jeu le pronostic vital. Son diagnostic est difficile et souvent trop tardif, car le tableau clinique est hétérogène et les cliniciens sont peu sensibilisés à ce problème.
