Abstract
Bricks are in widespread use as a building component, and their manufacture dates back many years. The basic methods of manufacture have changed very little over the years, though automation has been introduced wherever possible, helped by the fact that bricks are required in vast numbers but the size and shape has remained virtually constant while other technologies have changed.
