Abstract
Returning to Copenhagen from Grenaa, August and Marie made the round of visits to family and friends expected of a newly engaged couple. Marie then left for a month’s stay in Lund, Sweden, for her anatomical dissection course while August continued his work in the laboratory. August was now working with a new apparatus he had built for measuring the respiratory excretion of nitrogen.
I lay for a long time with my eyes closed thinking about life in general and you and the experiments I shall do tomorrow in particular. And all my thoughts were either rose colored or light green.
