Abstract
Cardiothoracic surgery is a highly subspecialized field of surgery and a specialty where morbidity and mortality rates have been directly correlated with multidisciplinary teamworking, level of surgical expertise, and the presence of state-of-the-art facilities, in diagnosis, treatment, and management of complications. Importantly, cardiothoracic surgery evokes an emotion of high surgical standards, grace, and prestige in the public eye as well as among other healthcare professional.
