This chapter:

introduces the concept of a form and that of a control

demonstrates the usefulness of Visual Studio’s Designer for editing the layout and setting the properties of forms and their controls

introduces the concept of an event, and gives and overview the publisher-subscriber event model used by C#

explains what a delegate type is and how it is defined

explains how an event field is defined and what purpose the event field serves
-
demonstrates the use of elementary controls such as buttons and labels
-
introduces mouse events to which controls cen respond
-
introduces the concept of a modal dialog box
