Abstract
Two aluminum powder explosions, that occurred in two small Italian factories, are reported. Both accidents took place in plants where the surface finishing of small aluminum artifacts was carried out through lapping and linishing. Highly flammable aluminum dust was produced and which was conveyed to the abatement plants. The two explosions are described and the causes are identified via an examination of plants and of the damage.
