Abstract
SLAPP, Swarm-Like Agent Protocol in Python, widely used in this book (Chapters 4–6), comes from Swarm (Minar et al., 1996), www.swarm.org. The project started within the Santa Fe Institute (first release: 1994) and represents a milestone in agent-based simulation.
