Abstract
It has been about twenty-five years since the beginning of the transition process of the post-planned economies in Asia, Europe and Russia. In the course of this phenomenon, the experiences of the Asian economies, and, in particular China, have been praised as an outstanding success. Some characteristics of China’s experiences – such as its gradual reform, and its dual track system – have become well-known concepts. Theoretical studies on this process (for example, Roland, 2000) have also been focused on these aspects.
