Abstract
The definition and negative image of retirement by the different interviewees are discussed and how they define themselves today. The search for an appropriate self- image that corresponds to their expectations and resists ageism, Baby Boomer “subversive thinking” around this topic, as well as the initial “oh-shit” moments in the early days to be dealt with, especially structure and time, are illustrated by interviews with Kathleen Flaherty, former CEO of Winstar, and Patrick T. Gallagher, former CEO of Flagg Telecommunications.
Retirement: From the French term meaning to withdraw from. (retirer) To withdraw from office, business or active life, usually because of age.
(Webster’s Unabridged Dictionary)
Today I am absolutely engaged, I am not a spectator
(Chai Patel, former CEO of The Priory)
