Abstract
In this chapter we focus on a handful of additional studies that have been selected to exemplify the types of research discussed in Chapter 4. Each of the eight studies will be discussed in terms of what they achieved and what potential benefit/implications they bring for both future research and practice. We explore the studies in greater detail than was possible in Chapter 4, including a closer look at the research questions, the data analysis, some data extracts and outcomes. The studies are presented in pairs, two studies in the experimental/comparative tradition, two studies focussing on individual learners or small groups, two studies focussing on eliciting data from children about their views and opinions, and finally, two studies focussing on primary second language teachers.
