Abstract
Orthopedic drainage is a surgical means that a certain part of the body and the outside to divert the necrotic tissue, pus, blood, or exudate accumulated in the space between tissues or in the articular cavity to the outside of the body. Among which, drainage is the general term for materials used to create the pathway between the body and the outside for the purpose of drainage, such as cigarette drain and rubber hose; efflux refers to the purulent effusion, hematoma, necrotic tissue, etc.; drainage area refers to the part of the human body to be drained. At present, drainage for therapeutic purpose is widely accepted; however, there exists a major controversy on drainage for preventive purposes.
