Abstract
Between 200,000 to 100,000 years ago, the evolution of modern humans began from Africa, and these people were called the San. Later, they gathered with the Khoi shepherds from the north who were moving south. Together, they became the KhoiSan. The KhoiSan descended to the Western Cape at the same time. Their descendants, about 1,000 years later, formed the Mapungubwe African Kingdom and began trading with India, Arabia, and China.
