Abstract

Since the Reform and Opening Up, China’s private education system has made gratifying achievements, with increased quantity, improved quality, multiple levels, an expanded scope and an increase in social impact. The policies and legislation pertaining to China’s private education system have gradually been improved, but issues such as taxation, property rights of legal persons and status of teachers still need to be addressed. Private education will follow a positive pattern of common development with public education.
