Abstract

A world-class university embodies the comprehensive strength of a country, which is also a requirement for becoming a powerful country through higher education. China made a strategic decision to build several world-class universities. The research university is an important part of the national innovative system, which is also the foundation and core of national competitiveness. From “211 universities” to “985 universities”, the top universities in China have made great progress.
