Abstract

In Chap. 3, the Pd-terminated, PdNiPd (111) surface was demonstrated to be more active and more selective to 1-butene than the Pd (111) surface for the hydrogenation of 1,3-butadiene using UHV-TPD experiments and DFT calculations.
