Beyond Multiculturalism

Managing Complex Diversities in a Postmulticultural Canada

  • Chapter
Revisiting Multiculturalism in Canada

Part of the book series: Transnational Migration and Education ((TMAE))

Abstract

To say we live in provocative and perplexing times is (to borrow a phrase) a cliché of understated proportions. The movement of people and diversification of mobility on an unprecedented global scale elevates the management of complex diversities into one of the more critical challenges of the 21st century (Castles & Miller, 2009; Spoonley & Tolley, 2012; Rodriguez-Garcia, 2012).
