Abstract
In this chapter, I elaborate some aspects of recent interdisciplinary research on multilingualism in European Union [EU] Institutions while focussing primarily on Members of the European Parliaments’ [MEPs] language ideologies and multilingual practices in European Commission committees [CEC] by integrating discourse analytical and sociolinguistic theories and methodologies. I draw on the vast amount of research and data from the DYLAN project in which I was involved in multiple functions and roles from 2006–2011.
