Abstract

Mother-scholars in the field of education constantly confront the binaries of intellect/maternal and public/private. How they interact with these binaries becomes an important question. In this chapter, I provide concrete ways that mother-scholars navigate binaries and find strength in navigating through these blurry spaces. Three courses of action emerge: Mother-scholars are committed to contextualized moments; Mother-scholars are committed to temporal agreements; Mother-scholarship is committed to one bottom line: the preservation of the child.
