Abstract

In this final chapter, I briefly describe the years that followed Simon’s three years at Chesed, summarize this study, and discuss conclusions, outline implications, further questions, and research directions for the future. After being shown the door at Chesed, Lawrence and Elizabeth were forced to scramble to find a school for third grade. They decided to put Simon in a private school for students with LD. They asked around and researched on the web until they found a couple of possibilities. Griffin was one of them and one of the reasons they chose it was because it offered early admittance. They needed to make sure that Simon had a place in the fall. Another reason they chose Griffin was that because Simon was in such an emotionally vulnerable state, they felt that the school’s reputation as nurturing and accommodating was just what he needed.
