Abstract

Challenges to traditional ways of living during the Renaissance also altered the goal of education: to form creative and unique personalities. At the same time, however, a monolithic intellectualism akin to neo-European rationalism soon limited the problem of creativity to the task of developing creative ability, which was seen as the capacity to solve cognitive, communicative, ethical and practical problems successfully.
