Abstract

The purpose of this contribution is to analyse the process of the construction of reality in the magic world. In fact in pre-literate societies, daily life is marked by numerous rites, cults, customs and beliefs, which form the “magic world”; in it we can place all those behaviours which depart from the mental processes prevailing in literate societies. In fact the climax of the whole religious and cognitive life referred to as primitive is represented by “magic powers”. And here the French Sociological School refuses to recognize only a plot of illusory associations, of wrong headed analogical arguments and groundless applications of the causality principle.1
