Abstract

The customary association of the ideas of art and medicine, characteristic of European civilization since the times of ancient Greece, calls for a closer contemplation of the reasons for this situation. Questions about the relationship of art to medicine always recur. Is medicine an art? What is the art of medicine? What is the share of art in the medical practice? Is it creative? Can it be classified as poiesis?
