Abstract
Enhancing the competence of semiconductor and electronic system industry is a matter of great concern in the information era of the 21st century. As the product technology gets complicated and time-to-market becomes short, the core problem in technological competence moves on to the education of potential engineers. Under this circumstance, the role of IDEC as a core of IC and system design education in Korea will be reviewed and its vision and prospects will be presented.
