Abstract

In the last 5 – 10 years, extensive progress and improvements have been made in the science and technology of TiAl alloys. In particular, substantial progress has been made in our understanding of their microstructural characteristics and property/microstructure relationships. Such progress is incorporated in the recent alloy and microstructure design of two-phase TiAl alloys. This paper reviews some key aspects of the progress.
