S-matrix Parametrization of Scattering Data. Extraction of Resonance Parameters from Experimental Data

  • Chapter
Theory of Resonances

Part of the book series: Reidel Texts in the Mathematical Sciences ((RTMS,volume 3))

Abstract

In this chapter we shall examine the problem of extraction of spectroscopic information from scattering data. Basically, we shall talk about experimental data processing. However, it is clear that the whole discussed scheme will be conserved if the scattering amplitudes and phase shifts are not obtained from experimental data but are found by solving a dynamic (e.g. Schrödinger or Lippmann-Schwinger) equation. Those few cases where data from theoretical calculations will be used instead of the experimental ones and where it will be necessary to change the scheme will be discussed separately.
