Abstract

The Deutsches Ausland-Institut was fully aware from the beginning of its relationship with the United States, officially and unofficially, after Adolf Hitler came to power, that the usual Nazi propaganda would not work. This didn’t invalidate their ultimate aims of spreading Nazi racism and creating a Nazi-dominated minority in the United States. It simply meant that different tactics would have to be utilized.
