Abstract
This monograph is a contribution to the rapidly evolving field of mammography, a field that has evolved over the past two decades into a sophisticated technical medical speciality. Progress has been based on the interplay between emerging and improving techniques for breast imaging, massive advances in computing power and usability allied to substantial improvements in image processing, and, above all, a surge in our understanding of the relationship between breast images and breast disease.
