Abstract
In this paper I will present empirical results, derived from an replication of an experiment reported in Tversky and Kahneman (1981), which indicate significant differences in the choice behaviour of male and female respondents. A comparison of tests with students at the University of Munich, Germany, and at the University of Aarhus, Denmark, suggests that these differences depend on the cultural background of the respondents.
