Abstract

ยง 212. Spiritus aethereus Frobenii is nothing other than oleum vini rectificatissimum and is not miscible with water as spiritus vini is; free from all spiritus, it is heavier than water, but floats on that [water] which has some al- kali dissolved in it, is turned yellow by phlogiston and readily takes up such contamination, but can become entirely clear and colorless again through distillation.
