Part of the book series: Solid Mechanics and its Applications ((SMIA,volume 85))

Abstract

Attention is focused on building a controller for driving a hybrid control scheme capable of working under stochastic excitation. The passive component of the controller, a base isolation bearing, is first described and the resulting structural system identified.

Then, among the available control algorithms, a fuzzy scheme is selected to drive the active component of the hybrid control scheme.
