Abstract
The growth and nature of intrinsic paramagnetic centers (PC’s) in YBa2Cu3O6+x (Y123) and the isostructural rare earth (R) analogues RBa2Cu3O6+x (R123), that, in principle, can be considered as an inherent implication of structural disorder with respect either to oxygen stoichiometry or the rare earth structural compatibility with the 123 host lattice, has been the subject of several recent studies mainly focused on their effect, direct or even additive, in the magnetic and superconducting properties as well as to probe phase separation in the latter systems [1-3].
