Abstract

In the framework of this colloquium, our assignment is to deal with bank lending to the public sector, the latter being viewed as one of the banks’ “customers”.

The authors, while retaining responsibility for any errors, gratefully acknowledge valu-able advice from Sergio Siglienti and useful comments from participants in the discussion at the SUERF Colloquium.
