Abstract
The purpose of this chapter is first an inventory of the types of amino acids in ground water, interstitial water, seawater, rivers, and lakes, and then a discussion of distribution, composition, and chemistry of dissolved amino acids. The chapter begins with general considerations concerning the amount and structure of amino acids in water.
