Abstract

The propeller induced pressure fluctuations are discussed from the point of view of vibration excitation. The origin, the character and the current judgement of these low frequency pressure fluctuations are briefly reviewed. Various aspects of prediction techniques are considered. Attention is paid to the elimination of vibration induced pressure fluctuations in model tests and to the complicated problem of simulating unsteady cavitation.
