Abstract

Neoplasms may occur in all developmental stages of organisms with true tissues (57), therefore also during pregnancy. The pregnant patient can develop the same cancers as the nonpregnant patient. Neoplastic complications of pregnancy present a diffuse chapter because the various neoplasms complicating pregnancy in one way or the other exhibit a different behavior depending on many factors. From the aspect of the patient care, it must be distinguished among the neoplasms which do not endanger the mother and/or the fetus, and those which are dangerous. The pregnant woman, in the same person, exhibits controlled growth (the pregnancy) and uncontrolled growth (the malignancy).
