Abstract
At present there is on the territory of Russia and other countries of the globe a great number of surface waters suffering from radioactive contamination. They include cooling ponds of nuclear power plants (NPPs), water reservoirs, lakes and rivers receiving disharges from nuclear fuel cycle plants, during both normal operation and accidental conditions.
