Abstract

The song ‘Longe demais das Capitais’, from the gaucho group Engenheiros do Hawaii (1986) starts one more geography class in a Paulista state school. From memory, all of the students sing it. After the final chords are sounded, the students applaud and ask for another song, they want one more. However, it is now time to move to an analysis, though it is better not to throw away or lose this moment of euphoria for the students.
