Abstract
A co-worker of Robert Karplus completed her work at Berkeley and went to another university. The news that she had worked with Karplus preceded her. When she arrived at her new campus, she was told that she should have a conversation about Karplus with a famous physicist on that campus. So she did. The famous physicist happened to be a fairly taciturn person with little interest in education.
