Advances in Regenerative Medicine: Role of Nanotechnology, and Engineering Principles

Abstract

Preparation and properties of water-soluble non-stoichiometric polyelectrolyte complexes are described. It is demonstrated that the data accumulated on studying kinetics and equilibrium of competitive reactions in solutions of the complexes form a basis for the development of stimuli responsive polyelectrolyte systems that are used for (bio)separation, gene delivery, immunoassay, design of (oligomeric) enzymes with controlled thermoaggregation and thermostability, preparation of ultrathin multilayered polyelectrolyte films and hollow capsules, creation of artificial chaperones.
