Drivers for Active-Matrix LCDs

AMLCDs were originally conceived for large-screen full-motion applications, but the demand for multimedia handheld equipments with embedded high-quality (small-screen) displays has recently pushed their utilization also in this market segment.1 Nevertheless, the driver circuits for these two LCD panel categories are subject to different trade-offs:
