Management of Gender Dysphoria

Abstract

In recent years, concern is rising on the use of MR imaging to depict the profound modifications of the natal male or female pelvic anatomy that occur after sex reassignment surgery. Multidetector-row CT (MDCT) angiography combined with color Doppler investigation is becoming the gold standard for the preoperative perforator mapping in patients undergoing phalloplasty.

In this chapter, we present the most important general aspects of pelvic MR imaging and the use of MDCT angiography in transsexual patients.
