Riassunto
R è un ambiente statistico sviluppato da un team di ricercatori di fama mondiale per la gestione e l’analisi dei dati e per la costruzione di grafici. Si tratta di uno GNU software, distribuito gratuitamente sotto i vincoli della GPL (General Public Licence). R è inoltre open source, in quanto il suo codice sorgente è scaricabile liberamente. Il download del software e della relativa documentazione (compresi alcuni brevi manuali introduttivi in italiano) può essere effettuato dal sito del CRAN (Comprehensive R Archive Network) all’indirizzo http://cran.r-project.org/.
