Le forme di ventilazione non convenzionale di sostegno respiratorio vengono impiegate nei casi in cui si assiste ad un’importante riduzione della frequenza o del volume respiratori oppure in associazione alia ventilazione convenzionale, quando si renda necessario un organo artificial per lo scambio gassoso, che puö collocarsi all’interno od alPesterno dell’organismo.
