Riassunto

Ogni terapia dovrebbe essere finalizzata alla cura dei meccanismi eziologici sottesi al disturbo e/o al processo fisiopatologico coinvolto. Questo obiettivo è difficile da raggiungere nel caso della vulvodinia, a causa dell’eterogeneità dei fattori implicati nell’eziologia del fenomeno. La vulvodinia, infatti, può essere il risultato finale o l’espressione comune di numerosi processi patologici, al punto che un’unica strategia medica può essere inadeguata ad affrontare tutti i casi che si presentano in consultazione.
