Riassunto
Comportamenti violenti sono stati per lungo tempo associati a lesioni focali o a danno diffuso del sistema nervoso centrale (SNC). Ogni condizione che porti a psicosi o mania prevede, come possibile sintomo concomitante, l’aggressività. Condizioni patologiche organiche che non compromettano direttamente l’integrità anatomica cerebrale possono essere causa di comportamento aggressivo, dovuto a diffusi effetti sulla funzionalità del SNC. Irritabilità e aggressività sono un grande bacino di malattia in molti pazienti neurologici e organici e aumentano le difficoltà di famiglie e caregiver.
